ProsĂm dávejte do kešky pouze pejsky. At spolu s dubem chránĂ tuto hranici.
Bordering oak, probably the oldest tree in our region. He was planted after 1627, when Pavel Michna z VacĂnova bought here some small plots. These plots made the basement of great archiepiscopal domination. The oak, situated by the gold creek Hodava, showed the border of 2 domination- archiepiscopal and JĂlovĂ© town. In 1690 he was mentioned in acts of mine master Josef Bittner. Nowadays the oak stays on the border of JĂlovĂ© and Petrov land register. During his very long life he was a witness of many historical events. In his youth he saw the recatholicization after the battle on White mountain, great epidemic of plague and mining in near mine of God blessing. Then he looked after careful reforms of Marie Terezie and the more radical ones by Josef II. Maybe in Napoleon ages he lost the top part of his treetop. Again fully grown he lived through the abolish of serfdom in 1848, afterwards Czech–German arguments as well as conservative-liberal rows. As a grand whitebeard he greeted the birth of Czechoslovakia in 1918 and its president T. G. Masaryk. Still healthy he survived both 2
-isms of 20. century. His acorns have feed animals (sometimes even people) for almost 400 years. He also has so many descendants that no one can count them. Unfortunately around trees are higher and higher and the oak has lack of sunshine. The big timber production with heavy mechanization doesn’t help oak very much. Anyone, who would like to visit this ancient and majesty tree, can use showed detour from the route JĂlovskĂ© vyhlĂdky (made by JĂlovĂ© decorating association). The plan of the route is on Masaryk square in JĂlovĂ© (further information in JĂlovĂ© regional museum).
So this year we’d like to give a present to this great tree, which is about 380 years old (he has nearly a jubilee). It’ s sad that the only one branch has green leaves and it’s hard to say whether the oak survive. We have to hope. Despite this situation this oak is still one of the greatest tree in our country which I have ever seen. Please get to the cache ONLY dogs so that they can gourd the border with oak.
